North Star depends on the amazing, engaged work of many volunteers, both to do what we do today and to grow in the future. By giving your time, energy, and skills, you can help us build community and shape Winston-Salem into a better place for all. We welcome your help!
If you’d like to volunteer, you’ll need to complete these two steps, in any order:
- Attend a Safe Zone Training at North Star. These are free and open to the public, so feel free to bring a friend! Check the list of upcoming dates, then sign up by emailing info@northstarlgbtcc.com or by filling out the Volunteer Interest Form below. EDIT: Safe Zone Trainings are temporarily on pause, so please fill out the form below to find out future dates and how to get started volunteering right away!
- Complete a Volunteer Training at North Star with the Director, where you can learn more about our organization and speak with the Director about roles you’d like to help fill. One Volunteer Training will be held each month, typically on a Sunday afternoon (you can find this month’s date by looking at our calendar). Sign up by filling out the Volunteer Interest Form below.
Our #1 volunteer need is for folks to staff the Center during our open hours — staffing volunteers are our lifeblood, and it’s a great way to get to know our organization and community. But we also have other volunteer positions available– more details to be posted on this page soon. Until then, please fill out the Volunteer Interest Form below.
Please note: Volunteers need to be at least 18 years of age. Youth under 18 are encouraged to join us for our Youth Leadership Council and other youth programs.
