Volunteer With Us

North Star depends on the amazing, engaged work of many volunteers, both to do what we do today and to grow in the future. By giving of your time, energy, and skills, you can help us build community and shape Winston-Salem into a better place for all. We welcome your help!

As you’ll see on the flowchart below, there are many ways to volunteer, and in nearly all cases, it starts with you completing a Volunteer Training with the Director as well as a Safe Zone Training.

Keep in mind that our #1 volunteer need is for folks to staff the Center during our open hours — staffing volunteers are our lifeblood, and it’s a great way to get to know our organization and community.

Please note: Volunteers need to be at least 18 years of age. Youth under 18 are encouraged to join us for our Youth Leadership Council and other youth programs.
