About Us

North Star is Winston-Salem’s first LGBT Community Center. The Community Center opened on September 21, 2013! The Center offers many educational, social, and collaborative activities for the whole community in the Piedmont/Triad area.

Mission Statement

The Mission of the North Star Center is to “enrich the lives of the LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer & Questioning) community by providing a safe and accepting place for people of all ages and backgrounds.”
